The Miracle of Life

The Miracle of Life

So, it’s been four months in Sutherland - starting completely afresh, and working our way up from the bottom again. A ‘new’ house to call home, a new lifestyle, new friends (at least family here is still the same) and a new business (two in actual fact). It’s been full ups and downs, with days of complete and utter peace and others where it seems like life has something against you.

And I am not even talking about adjusting to the temperature yet! It is still cold, and I fear I might never get used to it.

But in all the business of starting over, one tends to forget things that are most important in life - family! This week I learnt to appreicate the miracle of life again.  For the past few months I have been (slowly but surely) knitting a baby blanket for my sister’s new arrival (expected in October). And I even though I knew she was having a baby, the thought was rather distant. When I went to visit her in Cape Town, I was amazed when I felt the little life insider her kick!
But still, I don’t think I was prepared for the utter joy of the new arrival. A few weeks later (still knitting away), my sister had her first child - a little daughter - and I am now officially an aunty at my young age..

Sadly I can’t be in Cape Town right now, but I will be chasing up soon to go and visit my little niece, but with technology I already received a MMS and could share the joy of this little new life.

I immediately made plans to drive up to Cape Town on Saturday at the end of our business day. Strangely enough, all I can think about is how wonderful it will be for this new little family to come and visit in Sutherland, how priveledged we are to live in an environment where children can still play outside safely, can learn about farm animals and learn so much about traditions and rural lifestyle. Hmmm… sounds like I am convincing my sister to come and live here! Wish it were that easy! But I will definitely settle for regular visits!

Baby is just gorgeous! I am so pleased for all that she’s healthy and clearly, in terms of love, very wealthy!
I agree with you that this is the perfect place to raise a family. I wouldn’t want to have one anywhere else in the world.
You and your husband are two of the nicest people I have met and can’t wait for us to become better friends!
Thank you for the warm reception this weekend! See you tomorrow.
PS: I see all my biker friends have joined your group on Facebook, lol!
