Cape to Karoo Flyventures

Cape to Karoo Flyventures is a company based in Stellenbosch. They operate from Stellenbosch airfield, which boasts one of the most scenic runways in South Africa. For your interested, they offer three specific packages, but they also offer customized packages.

The exciting part of this company, is their package to Sutherland, which is a once-in-a -lifetime experience. This specific package is package 3:

We depart late afternoon directly to Sutherland, passing over the mountainous landscape, turning onto the flat Karoo once past Matroosberg. One of the most picturesque views is the plateau before Sutherland, turning into the “Bo-Karoo”, which gives Sutherland the elevation required for the excellent stargazing characteristics.

After landing at about 17h30, a transfer will collect us from the airfield, taking us to our guest lodge, followed by a dinner after 19h00. After dinner, our local guide will take us to the on-site telescopes (about four of them, each highly advanced set on a solid foundation) giving us a two hour in-depth tour of our galaxy!

Our aim is to provide a quicker alternative to these and the surrounding destinations, cutting out the travel time and adding a scenic bonus never available before.
