Die Tabak Huis
Welcome to “Die Tabak Huis” in the heart of the Karoo town (Sutherland). Known for its cold temperatures (and snowfall), as well as incredible night skies and star gazing opportunities!
Die Tabak Huis has two bedrooms, one bathroom and wonderful extras such as gas heaters, electric blankets on all beds, two fire places and a Dover Stove.
This house is great for a family or friends getaway with ample space for entertaining! Only 3,5 hours from Cape town. Escape to the Karoo!
The space
Walking through the front door , the main bedroom is on your left and the bathroom fully fitted to your right.
Entering the open plan living room area, the sitting area is to your left with a cozy small fireplace and flows into the second bedroom.
To the right is a big old table (3m) that can seat 10 to 12 people and old school lockers where all the glasses, cutlery and table linen is kept.
From the table it flows into a old “vuurherd” in the one side of the open area consisting of a Dover Stove and open Fireplace ideal for Braai’s.
To the right is the Kitchen which has a electric stove, as well as a gas top stove, microwave, toaster & kettle, all which is fully fitted with all the utensils and tools needed.
Guests will have access to uncapped free wifi and a smart tv for streaming videos and programs or listening music while relaxing at another infoor fire place.
From the living area there is a small door to the outside Stoep, where there is a stand alone braai and table and bench to enjoy.
The area is quite big (2000m2) where kids can run free.
The house is fitted with electric blankets & heaters for those cold winter nights.
