Stofkraal Guestfarm is the perfect getaway from busy city life.
Situated 32km north of Sutherland (towards Williston), gravel roads, you will find yourself in a tranquil environment where you can enjoy the silence and the stars.
For the adventurous, there is a 4×4 route (graded 3-4) and hiking routes to explore.
The farm offers 2 cottages (1 bedroom each) and a 3 bedroom home – all fully equipped for self-catering.
The cottages have one bathroom each, one with a shower and bath, and the other with two showers. The family home also has a full bathroom. All rooms have extra blankets, as well as electrical blankets, to keep you warm during winter.
Family home sleeps 6 , 3 bedrooms, 1 double bed and 4 x three quarter beds, outside braai facility and wood stove.
Tarentaal’ Cottage sleeps 4 , showers, 4 beds (one double and 2 three quarter beds) in one large room. Outside braai (gas).
Donkie’ Cottage: sleeps 4, 1 shower and 1 bath, one double bed and one double sleeper couch in the living room area. Outside braai facility.
Groendakkies Backpacker Cottage sleeps 6, Backpacker accommodation in 2 rooms with 6 single beds. We supply mattress covers. You bring your sleeping bag or sheets and blankets. The small bathroom has a flush toilet, hand basin and a shower. A wood burning donkey supplies hot water. A Dover stove can be used for cooking as well as a source of heat in the cold winter months. There is an outside braai area with a view of lucern fields and the Bastards Berg mountains. Oil burning lanterns and candles supply light.
We sell wood as well as ice.
Stofkraal also has an inviting camping site. The site allows for 10 vehicles and braai facilities are provided. Facilities also include an ablution block with warm water (provided by a ‘donkie’ or fire driven ‘geyser’).
Lovely 4×4 routes available and hiking trails to explore.
Free stargazing available on request. Martin will gladly assist you with stargazing at night with his 8” Dobsonian telescope on his farm. Guests are welcome to join in.(See photo attached)
