Stêrboom Guesthouse
Stêrboom Guest House is a self-catering house, situated close to the town of Sutherland. It’s also one of the coldest towns in the country with frequent snowfalls during winter. Sterboom Guest House is named after the unique endangered veld plant which is called Star Cliffortia/Cliffortia Arborea. It is confined to the mountains around Sutherland on a southern peak, high up in the mountains.
The house consists of a fully-equipped open-plan kitchen that is gas operating, dining room, and an indoor braai-fireplace with firewood on request. The 2 spacious rooms can sleep up to 5 guests comfortably. These rooms share a bathroom.
On offer is the opportunity to experience a working Karoo farm, hiking trails, some game roaming around and spectacular sunsets, all with warm Karoo hospitality.
The house operates on solar power and has gas available.
The guesthouse is situated on the farm 30 km outside of town on the South east side of Sutherland. On the Matjiesfontein road, – Komsberg road outside of Sutherland.
